DV AWARENESS MONTH 2006
We need YOUR Help!
In 2005, the Women’s Center of Rhode Island filled the month of October with educational presentations, poster contests, community events, self-defense classes, and multiple fundraisers to raise awareness about domestic violence. Believe it or not, plans are already starting to take shape for Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2006!
The Second Annual Raise Your Voices Not Your Fists! Benefit Concert is already in the works as is another auction and gala combination event. We are currently seeking members of the community to aid in the planning of these events.
We are also seeking places of business to hold cell phone drives and post awareness materials; restaurants, bars, and clubs to donate a portion of their proceeds; and community groups to hold fundraisers on our behalf.
We are open to any and all ideas, as we would like as much community involvement in the planning of DVAM as possible.
